Lungs filled with tar dripping, dripping

Why don’t I make a noise

Then she left, my chance gone

Never a retry, never, never

It haunts me with its darkness

Brings my nightmares to life

I love you, 3 words couldn’t exit my mouth

My lips trembling, I cryed over her whit, lifeless body

I could say it now

But she’d never hear it

I needed to say it, She needed to hear it

But I stood like I’d just seen a walking dead

Mouth shut with fear, no strength

I say It now but it means nothing

Love Loss

She brought me into this world

So how could it not change me when she left

I was left her to grow

Into the best thing she’ll never see

I never imagined my mother would leave me

Especially not at age 15

Another year nearly over

Her birthday was on its way ready to bring the joy of 41

She was like my blanket at night

Putting me to sleep, reminding me she loved me

I wish I told her more

That I loved her more than anything

I had to watch her wilt away, like a tree losing its leaves

Her beautiful face changed from pink to pale

Before I had time to react I was at a funeral

All she is now is in my memories and nightmares

I was born, she was diagnosed with cancer

I grew, she wilted

My years passed with ease, she fought those same years with the strength of prey running from it’s killer

It was stalking her like a lion for years. It found its time to strike

She will never leave me

Her brown hair and blue eyes are always in my head

But I know she would want me to live as best I can

Till I see her golden face in heaven again.

Its hard to see your mother wilt away

Before I knew it she was a thought in my head

Its hard to accept the fact

That after your birth

The thing that caused her death my have been caused

By her giving you life then she lost hers

She will never leave me

(Setting: Everyone is in the lodge and Alex and Craig are walking in to go sit at a table with Kayla and Jake)

Alex: Man its cold as a well digger’s butt hole outside!

Craig: Haha really Alex? How would you know what that feels like?

Alex: Shut Up Craig

Kayla: Hey guys! Whats up?

Craig: Well not a lot since when we were with you 2 minutes ago? Haha

Kayla: Oh ok. Well do you guys wanna sit down? Or are you just gonna stand there?

Alex: We’ll sit, Hey Jake

Jake: Oh hey guys sorry I was zonin alittle bit haha

Craig: I noticed that, So what were you guys doin before me and Alex got here?

Kayla: Sitting and waiting for you guys

Alex: Oh ya I almost forgot that we are the party around here haha

Craig: Oh ya that’s right

Jake: I’m hungry lets go get something to eat

Alex: In a lil bit Jake can’t you wait we just got here?

Jake: Nooo I cant wait im a hungry hungry man

Alex: Ok well wait just a sec

Craig: Alright well are you guys excited to go out tubing again?!

Kayla: YES! This is so much fun!

Craig: I agree. How bout you Jake?

Jake: I’m gonna eat this table if I don’t get food that’s what I think

Craig: Ok? Well I guess hes nonresponsive until he gets his food haha

Jake: Well no duh its like wanting a pencil to work without an eraser

(Everyone stares at Jake wondering what hes talking about)

Alex: What does that even mean?

Jake: I don’t know, I thought it up and let it fly

Alex: Ok well you shuoldnt say it again… ever

Craig: Ok. So on a new subject, Jake do you wanna go get some food?

Jake: YES! Lets go

(Jake and Garrett leave to get food. Kayla and Connor still sitting)

Kayla: Ok Alex so do you think we could ask him now? I know its in kinda a weird place but I need to talk to him about it.

Alex: Ya, I think so its been bugging me for awhile too

Kayla: Do you think he’ll let us ask?

Alex: I don’t know but we have to try

Kayla: Ok well whos gonna ask him?

Alex: You can, ill follow you up

Kayla: Ok but hold on let me text Jake to tell him were doin it

Alex: Ok

Kayla: I hope it goes well

Alex: Yea me too

Kayla: I loved his mom

Alex: I did too

(Jake and Craig walk back on)

Craig: That was pretty good I won’t lie

Jake: Yes yes it was, thanks for coming with!

Craig: Haha anytime bud

Alex: Hey guys welcome back

Craig: Thank you good sir. You guys wanna go back out now?

Alex: Maybe in a little bit

(Craig and Jake sit down, long pause)

Kayla: Ok well Craig we have got to talk about something

Craig: Alright, well what is it about?

(Alex and Jake look like they are getting ready for something, which makes Craig nervous)

Kayla: Ok well ever since your mom passed you seem to have completely forgotten about it.We don’t understand how you can just forget about something like that.

(Craig sounding offended)

Craig: You think I forgot about her? How could I do that when I stood over her dead body and had to ell her goodbye? When the last time I saw her alive I told her I hater her? Tell me how I can live with knowing that was the last thing I said to her?

Kayla: Oh… We didn’t know

Craig: I had so much hate inside of me when it happened. I didn’t know who or what to blame. So I blamed myself. Because the last thing I told my mom wasn’t I love you. It was I hate you. Tell me how I can forgive myself for that?

Alex: Craig, Why didn’t you tell us about this earlier? Were all your best friends and were here to help.

Craig: Yes I know you were there. But I couldn’t burden you with something like this. This is my struggle, I deserve this pain. It’s the only thing I deserve.

Jake: Craig you don’t deserve pain. What would your mom want for you? For you to hate yourself, or to help out the family and to show love to everyone around you?

Alex: Craig you like look like there’s something you haven’t said

Craig: Because there is, so after I said my goodbye’s I went into the waiting room. And the first person to see me was her best friend. She comes up to me and tells me that the last thing my mom told her before she went into surgery was….. was that she wanted her to tell her oldest son that she loves him more than anything and I mean everything to her. And no matter what that I need to take care of my brothers. It was like she knew she was going to die. And I was her first priority. I don’t deserve to be loved like that.

Kayla: Craig your mom was my best friend, and she told me all the time how much she loved you. You were her first boy. Her baby.

Alex: Craig, she knows you loved her. That’s what she will remember you for, the good times, not the bad. Craig you cant blame yourself for this.

Craig: How could I not Alex? You’ve never gone through anything like this so don’t talk like you know what its like.

Alex: Craig I never said I did. I’m just trying to help as best I can. I don’t know what its like to lose my mom. Especially so young, but you can’t act like you caused her death.

Jake: Craig your not to blame for this. Did you give her cancer? No she just happened to have noticed after she had you. It can’t just appear it take time for those to develop. And your words didn’t send her to her death but you know what. I bet that all she thought about before she went in was her family. And that includes you Craig!

Craig: Jake, I can’t accept that. I just feel like I caused this. Just give me time.

Kayla: Ok Craig we will and you can talk to us anytime you need to.

Craig: I know I can. You guys are the best, Thank you for always being there for me

Alex: Your welcome

Jake: Oh sure Alex, you take all the credit

Craig: I’ll tell you guys if I ever need to talk. But lets get back to business here.

Jake: YAAAAA!!!!

Kayla: Ya we should probably go back out now. People will be wondering where we are.

Alex: Alright lets kick it.

Craig: Kayla wait.

(Alex and Jake walk off stage)

Craig: Kayla, My Mom loved you so much, like the daughter she always wanted. And I thank you for that. For being there for her. You made her sp happy and I want you to know that she and I both love you a lot.

Kayla: Thank you Craig. I will never forget that.

Craig: Ok we should go catch up with the children HAHA

Kayla: Yes they are children all right

(Lights go out)

Alex: Man its as cold as a well diggers butt hole outside

Craig: Haha really Alex? How would you know what that feels like?

Craig: Not a lot since 2 minutes ago when you were with us. Haha

(In walk Jake and Craig)

She told her to tell her oldest on that she loves him and she doesn’t care what I say she’ll always love me. I was crushed. I didn’t deserve to be loved like that.

Kayla: Craig your mom was my best friend, and she told me how much she loved you all the time. You were her first born and you were her first baby boy

Alex: Craig, She knows you loved her. That’s what she will remember you for. The good times not the bad. Craig you have to tell us these things, we’ll help you

Craig: Yea, I see that now. Thanks guys you’re the best

Jake: Wait I have something to say

(Alex, Craig, and Kayla all look at Jake)

Jake: Craig your mom was a great woman and you cant blame yourself for saying what you said, It happens. But what you can do is help her by taking care of your brothers, and helping your dad through this. Its gonna be just as hard for him as it is for you. Its your chance to make things right Craig are you gonna do it? Or not.

Craig: Wow, thanks Jake I needed that

Kayla: Ok guys come her group hug

Alex: Oh your squishing my pelvis

Craig: Shut up Alex

Jake: Man im hungry

Alex: You can wait Jake haha

Kayla: Do you guys wanna go back out?

All the Guys: Yes!!!!!!

Kayla: Alright lets kick it

( Jake and Alex walk off stage, Kayla and Craig stay)

Craig: Kayla wait, My mom loved you like her daughter she never got. And I just wanted you to know she left you a note to read
